An ex-fashion model of the top class, almost 5'10'' tall, Carey was a favorite with high-end American designers, including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists voted her father Scientist of The Year. Because of his career Carey has been raised across the globe. When she was a student at in the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. An agent from Ford model agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. The year was 1980 when she emigrated to France and briefly lived in Paris and Bordeaux and then returned to New York in order to continue her modeling career. Her work was showcased on Vogue as well as Glamour covers. She attended full-time classes in New York University, obtaining her degree in literature in between assignments as a model. In the following years she began to develop an passion for acting. She attended the Neighborhood Playhouse New York. In 1986 she began her career as an actor with a small role in "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams. White water rafting, skis and rock climbing are among her preferred activities.
