Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. Her career then grew into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first music experience. She played the trumpet. In addition to classical and jazz, Nora Lum started to study hip-hop during her teens. After concentrating on education, she graduated with an education in journalism at college and a women's studies major. Not until after graduation did she start focusing on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included on her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also contained were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$. The last track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide released in the year 2015. After a successful career as a performer and songwriter, she decided to take on the role of an actor. Apart from early series like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed many major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP In Fina We Trust.
